constructs and delivers appropriate curriculum for P-12 students.

Curriculum-

C1- Plans informative, developmentally appropriate lessons and/or units INTASC 2, 3, 4, 7  NBPTS 1,2

This is an annual plan that I developed for a middle school. This is the curriculum I would follow if I were the department head of a Physical Education program.

Couch Potato is a game that I taught during my student teaching experience. The game is for younger elementary students, and develops their cardio respiratory endurance.

C2- Teaches subject matter accurately to insure that students can meet P-12 academic standards  INTASC 1, 3, 4, 7 NBPTS 1,2

This lesson plan on balancing demonstrates my ability to follow the Indiana academic standards accurately. This activity was developed for students in grades 2 and 3.

This is a lesson plan where the students had to use their balancing skills on a balance beam. Balancing falls under the Indiana academic standards.

C3- Uses interdisciplinary instruction as appropriate INTASC 1, 7 NBPTS 1,2

I worked on an interdisciplinary project where I had to research several activities that would meet different subject areas. I have taught several of these lessons throughout my student-teaching and PEP experience.

In this lesson, the kindergarteners learned about recycling which falls under Environmental Health. The students used different manipulative skills to "recycle" the different items in the appropriate recycling bin.

C4- Addresses subject matter from various points of view INTASC 1, 3, 4, 5, 7 NBPTS 1,2

This is a reflection about how I addressed my subject from different points of view to fit my students' needs. It is important to me to fulfill all of my students' needs.

In this lesson on throwing, I looked at different abilities in throwing. I gave the elementary students choices of different objects to throw.

C5- Teaches students to use critical thinking and problem solving strategies INTASC 4, 5, 7 NBPTS1,2

This is a weekly plan that I had for student-teaching. Students were asked to use critical thinking strategies in creating a poster as well as problem solving.

During my student-teaching experience, I had my students create an anti-drug poster. This was one of the most creative poster I had.

C6- Uses effective questioning strategies INTASC 4, 5, 7 NBPTS 1,2

This is a multiple choice test that I created for a bowling unit. It demonstrates my ability to create effective multiple choice tests.

This test on locomotor skills was designed for kindergarten. The students were asked to draw a line from the word to the picture of the activity. It was very effective for this age group, and the students scored very highly on the test.

assesses students’ learning and development with a variety of measures to aid in appropriate and effective instructional planning

Assessment-

A1- Develops appropriate tools to assess learning INTASC 4, 8 NBPTS 3

This is a part of a unit plan that I developed for baseball. This shows the different things that I would assess during the unit.

I developed a very fun interdisciplinary lesson over recycling. I assessed the students by asking each of them "what are some recyclable items?".  The students received a check by their name if they were able to answer the question.

A2- Assesses learning through standardized and/or teacher constructed tests to drive future instruction INTASC 8 NBPTS 3

This is a pre-test that I developed for my health class during student-teaching. The test was given on the first day of a unit on drugs.

After finishing a unit on tobacco and alcohol, I created this test for 9th graders during my student-teaching. The test has fill in the blank, true/false, matching, and multiple choice.

A3- Assesses learning through appropriate alternative measures to drive future instruction INTASC 4, 8 NBPTS 3

I created several different goals for 4 of my students during PEP. I wanted these students to improve on some of the things they were struggling on. I assessed these goals through observation and progression.

This is a reciprocal assessment for archery. The students partnered up and assessed their partner on the archery shot.

A4- Uses a variety of appropriate, authentic assessment tools and methods INTASC 4, 8 NBPTS 3

This is a self assessment that my elementary students did while balancing. The students were asked to write yes or no if the could perform the task or not.

I used the Test of Gross Motor Development assessment on one of my students during PEP. I looked at the student's locomotor and manipulative skills. This is an authentic assessment tool.

establishes professional and reciprocal relationships with others invested in P-12 students’ learning

Relationships-

R1- Demonstrates sensitivity for diversity with students, colleagues, parents, college faculty, and/or community agencies  INTASC 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 NBPTS 5

After attending the Celebrating Diversity Workshop, I wrote a reflection. This reflection demonstrates my sensitivity for diversity. At this workshop I learned several different ways people are diverse from one another in more ways than just race.

This is a reflection that I did after working with special needs students. I was able to work the Special Olympics for Wabash County as well as work with special need students from Manchester Elementary.

R2- Demonstrates with full awareness of ethical and legal responsibilities of teachers INTASC 7, 8, 9 NBPTS 4,5

In this unit plan on bowling, I demonstrate my ability to follow the Indiana State standards. My objectives for the unit clearly match up with the standards, which shows my legal responsibilities as a teacher.

This lesson plan over locomotor skills demonstrates my legal responsibilities as a teacher. It shows my objectives for the lesson follow the Indiana State standards for kindergarteners.

R3- Values life-long learning, personal/professional development, and/or service orientation INTASC 9 NBPTS 4, 5

After attending two meetings in a week of student-teaching, I wrote this reflection. The meetings were about one-to-one teaching and a meeting that the faculty has once a month.

This is a progress report that I handed out to my students' during the PEP program. This is the first time that I graded students as a professional.

R4- Models appropriate oral communication skills INTASC 6 NBPTS 1, 2

This is a PowerPoint on Preventing Injuries. I taught this to my 7th grade health class during my student teaching.

I gave this speech to motivate my fellow student-teachers. This speech was done the day before student-teaching started.

R5- Models appropriate written communication skills INTASC 6 NBPTS 1, 2

I wrote a paper for Human Biology about ways to prevent diseases. This paper demonstrates my ability to use good communication skills inside of my content area.

This is a paper that I wrote for my cinema for social change class. The paper breaks down a scene from one of my favorite movies On The Waterfront.

R6- Motivates students to learn individually, collaboratively, and cooperatively INTASC 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 NBPTS 1,2, 3

I created a web quest for my students during my student-teaching experience. The web quest is about tobacco and the students worked individually to finish the assignment.

I created a calendar for my PEP students. This calendar was designed to motivate my students over the month of June.

R7- Plans lessons in collaborative teams INTASC 6, 10 NBPTS 5

This is a lesson that I created and taught with other teachers during PEP. The lesson was over cooperative activities.

My cooperating teacher and I came up with this schedule that I followed while doing my student-teaching. This shows that I can work in collaborative teams and work with others.

creates positive and caring environments for student development and learning

Environment-

E1- Differentiates learning opportunities that respond to individual learning styles and learning challenges INTASC 2, 3, 4, 5 NBPTS 1, 2, 3

This is an IEP that one of my student's had during my student-teaching experience. These are just a few things I did to help out this students learning challenges.

In this reflection I talk about how the students scored high on the test we took. I had two IEP students who passed the exam for the first time all semester.

E2- Uses a variety of teaching methods and materials INTASC 2, 3, 4 NBPTS 1, 2, 3

In this block plan it shows the different teaching material I will be covering in a baseball unit. I was able to use this block plan when I taught softball during my student-teaching.

This is a study guide that I created for my 7th grade health class during student teaching. This is just one teaching method that I have done throughout my teaching experience.

E3- Uses a variety of appropriate media and technology INTASC 2, 3, 4 NBPTS 1, 2, 3

During one of my health classes I did a presentation on Respiratory Disorders. This is an example of the different technology I have used.

E5- Manages student behavior in positive, safe ways INTASC 2, 5 NBPTS 1,3

My classroom management demonstrates ways that I will deal with student behavior. It has my philosophy, procedures, and discipline plans.

One week during my student-teaching I had a lot of behavior problems with students. This reflection explains how I dealt with these behaviors.

E6- Models conflict resolution skills INTASC 2, 5, 8 NBPTS 1, 3

I taught a lesson on communication. In this lesson the students were asked to solve a problem using verbal and nonverbal communication.

In this reflection I talk about how I was able to resolve a conflict during a PE class. This one particular strategy has seemed to work for me.

E7- Engages in research and reflection on best practices in teaching strategies INTASC 1, 2, 7, 9 NBPTS 4, 5

My credo paper shows that I have a strong passion for teaching. I am very interested in making my teaching strategies better through research and experience.
