This WebQuest has been based off of Indiana Academic Standards.  See the standards below as well as the website link to the Indiana Academic Standards:

 

Standards:

  • 3.1.2 Participate in different types of guided scientific investigations such as observing objects and events and collecting specimens for analysis.

  • 3.2.6 Make sketches and write descriptions to aid in explaining procedures or ideas.

  • 3.5.1 Select and use appropriate measuring units, such as centimeters (cm) and meters (m), grams (g) and kilograms (kg), and degrees Celsius (ºC).

Learners:

This WebQuest is designed for third graders!  Even though this WebQuest designed for third graders it can be easily adapted for other grades as well.  Feel free to use this WebQuest however it is needed!  The idea is to use this WebQuest during a science unit or incorporate it into a classroom theme.  It incorporates subject areas of science, art, reading, and writing. 

Before doing this Webquest, it is important to explore this WebQuest.  Make sure it can be incorporated into your science curriculum, whether it be for a science unit or theme that you could use it to engage and enrich more of your students about the topic of flowers!  Below I have provided for you the Science Trail I have created to do before the WebQuest.  This Science Trail is completely optional and is a sample of what could be done before the students try the WebQuest.  Please take a look:
