Introduction

After going through the
Science Trail, think of what features and characteristics you noticed about the
flowers. Are you having trouble picturing the flowers you saw and it's
characteristics? If you are having trouble, read this poem below called
Flowers by Olivia Taylor.
Flower,
flower grow for me,
Become a flower from a seed,
Grow your roots and a stem,
Let the water come right in
Flower, flower you are true,
You make me happy when I am blue,
You became a flower from a seed,
You did all that just for me
Next, I want you to picture yourself living as a flower!
During this WebQuest you are going to think as if you are a flower living in
open field of wildflowers. Have you ever noticed along a country road or
along a major highway those patches of bright pink, yellow, red, or purple
flowers? Those patches of flowers are wildflowers and they want you to
come join them and discover their life and how they have grown up in nature.
You will discover a journey through which a flower starts and grows into a
beautiful flower. Here are some questions to get your brain thinking about
your upcoming journey to becoming a beautiful flower!
- What do flowers start
out as?
- What kind of colors are
flowers?
- How do flowers feel
when you touch them?
- Do flowers all have the
same number of petals?
- How tall are flowers?
- What do flowers smell
like? Do flowers give off the same aroma?
- Do little insects crawl
on you? If so what insects?
***Remember wildflowers are
unique and show their personality. Do not be afraid to stand out among the
multitude of flowers. Enjoy your discovery through the wildflower patches!*** |
