Curriculum-

C1- Plans informative, developmentally appropriate lessons and/or units INTASC 2, 3, 4, 7 NBPTS 1,2

This soccer lesson plan demonstrates my ability to teach skills which are appropriate and relevant to the age group at hand.

My Content and Methodology reflection paper showcases my views on implementing engaging content and activities through a variety of developmentally appropriate strategies.

C2- Teaches subject matter accurately to insure that students can meet P-12 academic standards INTASC 1, 3, 4, 7 NBPTS 1,2

This Soccer passing lesson plan shows that I am able to teach with academic standards and specific performance objectives in mind.

This lesson plan was designed to teach students rhythmic activities in the form of tae bo, while developing their cardiorespiratory fitness as well as their value for physical activity.

C3- Uses interdisciplinary instruction as appropriate INTASC 1, 7 NBPTS 1,2

My Floor Hockey lesson plan demonstrates my use of interdisciplinary instruction to cultivate the cognitive domain in my students.

This lesson plan over healthy weight management instructs students on how to utilize mathematical procedures to calculate body mass index.

C4- Addresses subject matter from various points of view INTASC 1, 3, 4, 5, 7 NBPTS 1,2

The three Teaching strategies for nutrition that I have outlined in this work shows my understanding of different methods of conveying the material and relating it to the students from multiple points of view.

My lesson plan designed to instruct healthy ways of managing weight facilitates critical thinking about the causes of the obesity epidemic in America, as well as different viewpoints for combating the problem.

C5- Teaches students to use critical thinking and problem solving strategies INTASC 4, 5, 7 NBPTS1,2

This Cooperative activities lesson plan showcases my ability to cultivate problem solving skills in my students through group teamwork activities.  This lesson encourages students to use critical thinking and creativity.

My Problem Solving in Weight Training lesson plan demonstrates how I am able to present students with tasks that facilitate the life skills of critical thinking and problem solving.

C6- Uses effective questioning strategies INTASC 4, 5, 7 NBPTS 1,2

 This Health Lesson Plan on carbohydrates and protein utilizes questioning to determine what students already know at the beginning of class, in addition to stimulating higher level thinking.

This Health Lesson Plan over general wellness demonstrates some of the questioning strategies that I use in order to facilitate critical thinking and higher learning.

Assessment-

A1- Develops appropriate tools to assess learning INTASC 4, 8 NBPTS 3

This Weight Training written assessment allowed students in my field experience to demonstrate their knowledge of muscle groups and exercise equipment use.

This Badminton written test demonstrates my knowledge of assessment and my ability to implement it into a lesson to determine if student learning had occurred.

A2- Assesses learning through standardized and/or teacher constructed tests to drive future instruction INTASC 8 NBPTS 3

This Badminton skills test describes the Lockhart-McPherson skills test, which is a published test of students' badminton abilities.  This test allows the educator to determine what skills are in need of refinement in their students.

The following written test over weight training knowledge and muscular anatomy demonstrates my ability to create tests for knowledge assessment and application as well as future instruction.

A3- Assesses learning through appropriate alternative measures to drive future instruction INTASC 4, 8 NBPTS 3

My Archery reciprocal task sheet gives students the opportunity to observe and learn from their classmate's mistakes, while teaching them proper form as well.

This lesson plan over healthy weight management assesses student knowledge by having them brainstorm ways to control 3 factors that affect weight management (physical activity, food intake, psychological factors). 

A4- Uses a variety of appropriate, authentic assessment tools and methods INTASC 4, 8 NBPTS 3

This Golf skill analysis highlights the learning cues for assessing a variety of golf strokes in order to gauge proficiency.

My Basketball Skills Test showcases the variety of assessment tools that I am able to implement into the curriculum.

Relationships-

R1- Demonstrates sensitivity for diversity with students, colleagues, parents, college faculty, and/or community agencies  INTASC 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 NBPTS 5

The sensitivity for diversity which I possess is outlined in my Final Reflection Paper.

My Field Experience Reflection Paper showcases my awareness and understanding of diversity.

R2- Demonstrates with full awareness of ethical and legal responsibilities of teachers INTASC 7, 8, 9 NBPTS 4,5

I understand and embrace the ethical and legal responsibilities of teachers, as seen in my Credo.

My Conflict Mediation Reflective Essay outlines my acknowledgement of classroom conflict and the responsibilities of teachers to facilitate a resolution to these differences in a positive, respectful manner.

R3- Values life-long learning, personal/professional development, and/or service orientation INTASC 9 NBPTS 4, 5

This certificate was received for my participation in the ABC's of Autism workshop, where I gained knowledge that will help me me in the professional field of mainstream teaching.

The ideas which I have developed pertaining to life-long learning, professional development, and service are displayed in my Final Reflection Paper.

R4- Models appropriate oral communication skills INTASC 6 NBPTS 1, 2

I am proficient at communicating information orally in an effective manner, as demonstrated by my Oral Presentation Rubric.

This Health Lesson Plan over general wellness, which I taught to a class of seventh grade boys during a field experience, demonstrates my ability to orally communicate with students in order to effectively teach.

R5- Models appropriate written communication skills INTASC 6 NBPTS 1, 2

My autobiography demonstrates my ability to write clearly and communicate information.

I possess the ability to effectively portray ideas through written communication, as seen in my Parent Letter.

R6- Motivates students to learn individually, collaboratively, and cooperatively INTASC 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 NBPTS 1,2, 3

My Teamwork lesson reflection shows my understanding of how to teach cooperative activities that facilitate collaborative processes as well as individual learning.

This Problem Solving in Weight Training lesson plan is designed to allow students to make decisions for themselves and with partners in order to improve physical fitness, while learning about the effects of specific weight training techniques. 

R7- Plans lessons in collaborative teams INTASC 6, 10 NBPTS 5

This fitness Lesson plan was designed in collaboration with other physical education teachers in order to utilize resources most efficiently.

My Rhythmic Activities Lesson Plan was brainstormed and developed with the help of my cooperating teacher and colleagues.

Environment-

E1- Differentiates learning opportunities that respond to individual learning styles and learning challenges INTASC 2, 3, 4, 5 NBPTS 1, 2, 3

This Cooperative activities lesson plan demonstrates my ability to design a lesson that incorporates different learning styles and allows for use of individual talents.

This certificate, proving my participation in the ABC's of Autism Workshop, shows that I have learned specific techniques and strategies for teaching students with learning challenges and unique retention styles.

E2- Uses a variety of teaching methods and materials INTASC 2, 3, 4 NBPTS 1, 2, 3

My Teamwork lesson reflection shows that I understand how to incorporate variety into my curriculum in order to keep units fresh and interesting.

This Content and Methodology paper outlines my views in favor of utilizing a variety of teaching methods in order to meet the needs of different types of learners.

E3- Uses a variety of appropriate media and technology INTASC 2, 3, 4 NBPTS 1, 2,

The Reflection on technology shows that I can apply technology into a curriculum in creative ways to facilitate learning and maintain student engagement.

The Fitness records progress report documents the progress made by students in regards to physical fitness throughout the semester.

This Basketball Skills Test demonstrates my ability to document results for later referral and progress checks.

E5- Manages student behavior in positive, safe ways INTASC 2, 5 NBPTS 1,3

This Reflection on classroom environments demonstrates my views and understanding of effective classroom management to avoid misbehavior and maintain student engagement..

My Conflict Styles survey and reflection outlines my views of conflict and personal strengths for managing and dealing with such issues.

E6- Models conflict resolution skills INTASC 2, 5, 8 NBPTS 1, 3

My Field experience reflection paper outlines my feelings, views, and strategies pertaining to conflict resolution and management.

In this Conflict Mediation Reflective Essay, I explain the fact that I have become comfortable practicing and facilitating peer mediation in order to resolve classroom conflict in a positive manner.

E7- Engages in research and reflection on best practices in teaching strategies INTASC 1, 2, 7, 9 NBPTS 4, 5

The beliefs, research, and theories of specific experts in the field of educational psychology are outlined in my Theorist Matrix.

My Credo reflects my beliefs and ideas as to what teaching practices and strategies are most beneficial to students.
