Models

The goal of this section is to give a visual represenation of how we can use anger and where to place our quantifying uses of anger. This model can be used as rigidly or fluidly as one wishes.

Dual Threshold Model of Anger

This model is adopted from Deanna Geddes and Ronda Roberts Callister, whose full article can be read here.

The degree of anger expression moves with the arrow from the bottom up. Anger is felt on all stages of the model. Crossing the expression threshold has a distinction from suppressed anger through communication to parties within the conflict. Crossing the impropriety threshold leads to miscommunication and negative outcomes. Only within the expressed anger can positive communication occur.
