College Documents
Within this segment of the website, I have included five documents from my personal portfolio that best demonstrate my personal as well as professional growth from my undergraduate studies while attending Manchester College.
Overview: This document focuses on the organ black market which is undermining the National Organ Registry. Instead of waiting on a list for a donor, individuals can purchase organs via this black market industry.
Overview: This document examines the practices of the federal government requiring standardized testing as a way to measure children's success. This examination ultimately concludes that standardized testing harms children, putting an ethical dilemma in teachers' hands.
Overview: A Nation in Crisis looks at the conflict in Vietnam between the United States and the Vietcong. It examines the elements of colonialism, racism, economics, women, migration, science, and nationalism that encompass this issue. Overall, this paper determines the United States should not have even been involved in the Vietnam conflict.
Overview: Brick Walls is a personal reflection upon my educational experiences at Manchester College. It provides an in-depth perspective of what a student with special needs might encounter at a higher education level. Ultimately, the current educational system could potentially fail those who need accommodations; therefore, institutions of higher education should examine their practices.
Overview: This document reflects the experience of attending the Diversity Workshop presented at Manchester College which looked at the diverse aspects of society.
