DATABASE PROJECT
This project certainly required me to step way beyond my comfort zone into a realm of technology I had never thought of entering. I have always enjoyed the fruits of someone else's labor of database design, particularly in the public school setting when I needed a computer grade book and attendance program. I have never, however, had the chance to learn how to design and create a database. In fact, when I began this class, I had absolutely NO knowledge of how complex a database could be considered. While I have a lot of work yet to do on this project and in learning the full aspect of database design, I have created a useable database for my family's mailing addresses. My husband and I will be in charge of mailing the family reunion invitations as well as maintaining the genealogical records of the Schilling family. The database will help with that aspect.
Here you will find links to important aspects of my database project.

This first Workflow of database was a naive model of what I envisioned for my project. When I began the database project, I was honestly clueless of how to go about the organization and implementation of designing a database. I had no prior experience with any type of database development; I have only been a consumer of databases through my position in the public schools and now at the college level. With help, I began to see the relationship between the different tables and was able to develop this Workflow chart.
