CLOZE PROCEDURE
The cloze procedure, developed in 1953 by Taylor, is an easily constructed test that provides a quick snapshot of a student’s prior knowledge for a particular topic or reading selection. Words are left blank in a reading selection in order to see if the reader can use context clues as well as prior knowledge to complete the blanks.
