Stephen Hawking on A.I.Stephen Hawking At the Zeitgeist 2015 conference in London (March 30, 2015): “Computers will overtake humans with AI at some point within the next 100 years. When that happens, we need to make sure the computers have goals aligned with ours. Our future is a race between the growing power of technology and the wisdom with which we use it.” Later in an interview with the BBC, Hawking said: “The development of full artificial intelligence could spell the end of the human race. It would take off on its own, and redesign itself at an ever increasing rate. Humans, who are limited by slow biological evolution, couldn't compete, and would be superseded.” — Speaking at the Zeitgeist 2015 conference in London and in a BBC interview (2 December 2014) [see] |
