than myself. I received this certificate by volunteering with ARC of Wabash
for all four years of my college career. This certificate is from the
2009-2010 school year.

the ABC's of Autism: Putting the Piece Together pre-professional
workshop demonstrates the sensitivity I have for diversity in the classroom
concerning students with Autism. At this workshop, I learned new ways to
engage students with autism in the classroom by listening to various
speakers. Learning about the importance of visual schedules, social stories,
and listening to an Autism panel enables me to apply those new skills in my
future classroom and share them with my future colleagues.

introduced me to the concept of building a respectful classroom environment
by getting to know students on an individual basis and have rules and

classroom. At this workshop, I had the opportunity to develop professionally and
learn how technology can enhance learning within my future classroom.

Models appropriate oral communication skills
- My
oral presentation rubric
demonstrates my ability to share knowledge I
learned at the IAEYC conference in the spring of 2008. This presentation
over Gardner's Multiple Intelligences, engaged my peers by having them take
a survey, answer various questions using handouts, and by providing them
with a PowerPoint as a visual aide. While presenting the material I made eye
contact with the audience, I elaborated on handouts by sharing personal stories,
and made sure the material was focused on early childhood education.

Kalberg VanWie who believes that technology promotes learning in the
classroom and can be used to help manage student behavior. During the
presentation I varied the tone of my voice, engaged the audience through
small group activities, provided visual aides by using hand outs, and a
PowerPoint.

individually and cooperatively. The literacy project allows a student to
individually complete activities listed on the webpage before, during, and after
reading. While completing the science WebQuest, three students are given
individual responsibilities while working in a cooperative group.

leading reading groups at a local elementary in a time of need. During
this experience I motivated students to appreciate reading in a small
cooperative group.
