My Professional Credo
Abstract
I have experience and learned many different ideas about the teaching profession
though my middle school and high school years. I have seen different teaching
styles that have led to my understanding of the teaching profession. I believe
teachers are important with the future. I believe that teacher’s credo are very
important.
Children are the driving force of the future and hold the answers to many
unanswered questions. My goal is to help strengthen the future by educating the
younger generations, so they can lead us forward. I want students to be
passionate about learning and present them with knowledge that will help shape
them into a well-rounded person. I will strengthen my learning while teaching
because teachers always have to learn and they never stop learning about the
profession that is always changing. I have a passion for children and learning
which led me towards the teaching profession. I want to be a guide for my
students and allow them to solve problems together. I want to learn from they
like they are learning from me. Being a positive role model for the student is a
great way to help improve the future.
When I was in fifth grade, I discovered my passion for teaching. I was placed in
a higher math class for the first time and my teacher was an amazing. She knew
how to get the most out of every student and have some fun while teaching. She
taught me a lot of life skills that I still use today. She was my first teacher
role model that I wanted to follow in the teaching profession. Also during my
fifth grade year, I started tutoring younger students and even follow classmates
and I became extremely passionate about helping and serving others. As I got
into high school, my desire to teach got stronger and stronger. I tried to be a
posititive role model where ever and whatever I was doing. I became extremely
passionate towards helping and serving others.
I volunteered to tutor younger children because I love the interaction
and the joy that the student gets after solving a tough problem. In high school,
I had many different teachers and they all had their own style and belief. It
was interesting to see how successful each teacher was in their own way.
I want to be a progressivism teacher because I strongly believe that teachers
should be a guide rather than a strict teacher. I want to be a positive role
model for my entire student and want to have a desire to want to learn. I want
students to be involved in class rather than being forced into the subject
matter. I want students to be involved with each other and work together to
strengthen their education. I believe in group work so that they can work
together to achieve a common goal. I believe that students can learn a lot about
themselves through struggles that they have experience and it will improve their
problem solving. I want student to be strong in problem solving and working
together because they are two skills that will help my students in the future
the most.
The theory of perrenialism will be a focus in my classroom. I believe that
students need to understand themselves. I believe curriculum should be the
highest focus when it comes to knowledge. Students should be aware of the
curriculum and what is needed to be successful in life. I believe that students
should have knowledge of the Western culture. Cultivation is a top priority of
education worth having.
Finally, as a teacher I will focus on the importance of the individual and
emotional commitment to living realistically, which is based on the philosophy
of existentialism. People will be
known by what they do and the choices they make it life. I want to lead my
student to positive choices and actions. I want to make a difference in my
students and hope they can make a difference when they grow up. This philosophy
should make one think about their life and what it means to them and what is
important.
As a teacher, I will have to use the philosophy I have learn and tried to
influence my students and grow with my students. I want to create a positive
learning environment where students can work together and achieve common goals.
I also want the students to be confident in working independently. I want the
student to know what my goals and expectations for the classroom are. I want the
students to feel like a person they can communicate with and not be afraid
because I am a teacher. I want students to be excited about the subject matter
without me forcing it upon the student. I believe that student can learn a lot
by teaching and being involved with their fellow classmates. I think discussing
ideas that students like is a great way for students to feel involved. Students
enjoy sharing different accomplishments with the teacher and fellow classmates.
Group discussions and group works can be very beneficial learning experiences. I
want my student to become confident, hard working, successful people for the
future.
In conclusion, I want to be a positive role model for my students. I want to give them all the knowledge that will make them successful in the future and make our future a brighter place. I will teach with my progressive existentialism and perrenialism philosophical values. I want to create a classroom environment that students love to be in and want to be there every day. I want to be a friend not only their teacher. I want my student to be comfortable around me. So, they can grow up and make the future strong and a better place. I want my student to become a successful part of society. I want my student to always want to give back to the community and society.
