C1 – Relates content knowledge to other subject areas

 

              -Social Studies Unit Web

                 - By creating this interdisciplinary unit web, it demonstrates my ability to relate social studies to all subject area.  

 

                 -Trade Book: Diary of a Worm

                 -This is two lessons that have the students read literature and then use science to better understand the book.

                   

 

C2 – Teaches subject matter accurately

 

            - Science Lesson Plan  

             -This science lesson plan shows that I am able to teach science accurately.  

 

              -American Science Essay

              - By writing this paper on astronomy it demonstrates my knowledge on science curriculum.

 

C3 – Teaches content from multiple viewpoints

 

             -Art Lesson Plan 

               -This art lesson plan shows my ability to teach art and language arts together.  

 

               -Story Telling Lesson

               -In this lesson the students dress up as an individual from our histories past which shows my ability to teach from multiple viewpoints.                     

 

 

C4 – Teaches students to use critical thinking and problem solving strategies

 

            -Creative Dramatics Lesson Plan 

               -This lesson plan, "The Human Knot", teaches children to problem solve how to get out of a human knot while working with other children.  

 

                               -Battle Ship Lesson Plan
                        -In this lesson plan the students are required to create a battle ship page by using math coordinates and then play the game and guess another students coordinates.

 

C5 – Models appropriate oral communication

 

              Classroom Management Featuring Kounin

                 -This speech on classroom management featuring Kounin shows my ability to orally communicate with my peers.

 

                  -Teacher Interview

                  - This interview demonstrates my ability to orally communicate in a professional setting with a teacher about his thoughts on reading.

 

C6 – Models appropriate written communication skills

 

              -Liberal Arts Paper

                 -This is a paper about why I chose to go to a liberal arts college and what I think of the liberal arts college.

 

                 -Diversity Workshop Paper

                 -This paper reflects on my thoughts while attending a diversity workshop.

 

C7 – Teaches from a personal philosophical base

 

      -Teaching Credo

       -This is my person beliefs on teaching and why I decided to become a teacher.

 

       -Classroom Management Plan

       -In this classroom management plan that I created consist of an extensive document that outlines my belief system for my classroom management based off of my personal philosophy.  

 

C8 – Uses interdisciplinary instruction as appropriate

 

               -Social Studies Unit Web

                   -This Social Studies Unit Web shows that by me integrating social studies into 12 other subjects I use interdisciplinary instruction.  

 

                   -Creation of Washington D.C.

                   -This lesson teaches the students about the history of Washington D.C. which includes learning about the life cycle of mosquitoes and the problem they had while creating Washington D.C. This shows my ability to integrate Social Studies and Science.  

 

C9 – Uses effective questioning strategies

 

                 -Blooms Questions

                     -These are questions that were generated from Bloom's Questions that are being used for a children's book for a second grade classroom.

 

                         -Thirteen Colonies Game

                         -In this game I use my skills to question the students using Bloom's Taxonomy Questions which shows how effective I am at questioning students.
