Personal Facts
I grew up in a mid-sized town in Eastern central Indiana with my parents, Chuck and Beth Strange and one sister, Natalie. This year I am captain of the Manchester Spartans Women's Golf Team. We won our conference championship the past four years and this year have gotten an automatic qualifier to go to the NCAA National tournament. The past two years, I have been on the Campus Ministry Board, planning religious life activities on campus, including being chair for last year's Peace Week committee, and this year being co-chair of the entire board. I attend a Methodist church both when I am at school and at home and participate in a college bible study on Wednesday nights. The past three summers I have worked at a children's camp in Brown County where I was the Head Female Village Counselor. It was here that I have gained a lot of my knowledge about discipline and handling difficult children as I was in charge of 6-14 year old female campers from inner-city Indianapolis. I have just begun student teaching at Sharp Creek Elementary School in Wabash, Indiana for a 5th grade general education classroom and for a 1-6 Reading Resource Classroom.
Career Interest
I one day hope to teach a general education classroom of anywhere from 1st through 3rd graders in an inner-city school. I want to teach those students who's family life may restrict them from progressing at a normal pace through school.
