Reading Activities
In Owl Moon, the father and his daughter go owling in hopes of seeing the Great Horned Owl. Have you ever been owling before? Most people haven't! So click here to learn more about what you could do to see and hear a Great Horned Owl!
1) After reading the book as a class, get into groups of 3 and select TOGETHER your favorite page of the book. Then as a group, come to the front of the class and act out that scene. REMEMBER...one person has to be the father in the story...one person has to be the daughter...and the last person could be a prop used in the story such as a tree, owl, branch, etc...BE CREATIVE!!!

So as you read independently, make a list of other calling sounds for different animals. Write down 6 examples of animal sounds that you don't already know!! EXPLORE THE WILDERNESS!!
