After Reading Activities

1) Now that you've completed the book Owl Moon, LET'S DO A FUN SCIENCE EXPERIMENT to get to know owls a little bit better. Owls eat lots of other prey for food so when they eat their prey whole they throw up the things they can't digest which are owl pellets.

WHAT ARE OWL PELLETS???

Owl pellets are like little furballs...Gross I know!! But now you're going to get to see it for yourself as you will get the chance to Disect your own OWL PELLET!!

When you get done, we'll come together as a class to discuss what you've found!!

2) Last but not least, the father and the daughter in the story go on an adventure through the woods. In your response journals, write a story about a time when you went on an adventure with your mom, dad, brother, cousin, grandpa, best friend, or whoever else you went with...

Answer questions such as: Where and why did you go??...What did you see and do??...Was it dangerous or exciting??...WRITE!!!
