During-reading Activities

1.) For the first during-reading students will go through and write down at least 3 words that they do not know while reading.  After we get done reading the book students will go to the following website and search the words they did not understand.  They will write down their answers so that the teacher can know about their learning and what words they did not know.

2.) The second during-reading activity will have students stop during reading on the page where they find Max's snail.  Students will then predict the end of the book using the clues already given previously.  This book is a bit of a mystery until the end so students will begin to think outside the box without help from other students.  They will provide their own unique ideas and provide reason for why they think the book will end this way.  They will then email their 8 to 10 sentence response to the teacher.  Therefore students can utilize their skills on the computer using email.  The link below is my email account that students will have to send it to.
