After Reading:
1. Open Microsoft Word and write a journal entry about the movement and adventures of each of the mammals described in the book. What are some of the challenges that they faced? Did some of the mammals face more challenges than others? Entries should be one to one and a half pages long and double spaced. Make sure to have children proofread their journals before turning them in.
2. Students will follow the link to the National Geographic website where they will be able to search through a list of all the mammals. From the alphabetized list, students will find each of the mammals that were talked about in the book. For each mammal, students will write two paragraphs (8-10 sentences) that includes at least 2 facts about the mammal, one of which being how that mammal travels (i.e.: groups, alone, tendencies etc...)
