About The Author

Seymour Simon is the author of more than two hundred books, more than half of which have been named Outstanding Science Trade Books for Children by the National Science Teachers Association-Children's Book Council.  Simon has received lifetime achievement awards from the American Nature Study Society, the Washington Post/Children's Book Guild, and the National Forum on Children's Science Books.  Preludes to They Walk The Earth include They Swim the Seas (1998), and Ride the Wind (1997).  They Walk The Earth is the third book in his series that covers the topic of migration.  Seymour Simon makes his home in Great Neck and Columbia County, New York.
