Summary
Don't Laugh, Joe is a story of a young possum and his mother. Mother possum is worried that her son, Joe, has not learned how to play dead. Mother possum is worried because for a possum playing dead is very important to surviving. Joe has trouble doing this because every time he tries to play dead he ends up laughing. One day Mother possum is trying to teach Joe how to play dead when a grumpy old bear comes out of the woods. The bear teaches Joe a lesson he will never forget.
