I was born in Stuttgart, Germany on an Army base because my father was in the Army.  My mother, brother, and I moved back to the states when I was 10 months old.  We moved back to South Bend, Indiana which is where the rest of my life was lived up until college.  I grew up playing sports like softball, basketball, and soccer.  When I came to Manchester College I was recruited to play soccer, and I did for four years.  I received many awards while at Manchester such as Freshman of the Year in our conference, Conference MVP my Junior year, and I made the All-conference Team all four years.  I also set a school record for most goals in a career.  While at Manchester I have grown into someone who is more knowledgeable about different cultures and problems in the world.  I've never been big on politics, but I can at least understand them.  Although I grew up in a town where going to class with someone of another race and ethnicity was no uncommon I realized there are a lot more when I came to Manchester, and I think that has helped me to grow up, if you will.  The summer between my Junior and Senior year I decided that I did not want to teach in a classroom anymore.  It was no longer my calling in life.  After talking to my mom about what my interests and talents are I decided that becoming a school social worker would be a better fit for me and my career.  That is now my focus and what I am truly wanting to pursue.
