This web quest is about how the crops we raise right here in Indiana.  The main focus is on Ethanol and how it is produced from corn.  The students will become private investigators and look into how ethanol is produced and the benefits of using ethanol.  They will take one page of notes during their research and then write a letter to the President of the United States about why they think ethanol is important or not. 

This web quest is designed for fifth grade students.  It focuses on research and writing, however, science is also incorperated through the science trail and in the writing topic.  No prior knowledge is necessary to complete this activity.
