Pre Reading Questions (5 points)

            5 points: All questions are answered in relation to the passage

            3 points: 3-4 questions are answered in relation to the passage

            1 point : 2 or fewer questions are answered

 

K-W-L Chart (5 points)

            5 points: All 3 columns are filled in with information about punctuation with at

 least 5 total statements.

            3 points: All 3 columns are filled in with information about punctuation with

 3-4 statements.

            1 point: Less than 3 columns are filled in with information

 

Tally Chart (5 points)

            5 points: All of the punctuation marks are tallied

            3 points: 5-6 punctuation marks have been tallied

            1 point:  Less than 5 punctuation marks have been tallied

 

Prediction Question (5 points)

            5 points: The prediction question is answered with 0-1 grammatical errors

            3 points: The prediction question is answered with 2-3 grammatical errors

            1 point:  The prediction question is answered with 4 or more grammatical errors

 

Bar Graph (10 points)

            10 points: The bar graph correctly represents the information in the tally chart with correct labels, including all 7 punctuation marks

            8 points: The bar graph represents the information in the tally chart with 1 error in the number of punctuation marks or labels

            6 points: The bar graph represents the information in the tally chart with 2 errors in the number of punctuation marks or labels.

            4 points: The bar graph represents the information in the tally chart with 3 errors in the number of punctuation marks or labels.

            2 points: The bar graph represents the information in the tally chart with 4 or more errors in the number of punctuation marks or labels

            0 points: The bar graph does not represent the information in the tally chart

 

Post Card to Punctuation (10 points)

            10 points: The postcard to the punctuation mark includes at least 3 sentences, a greeting, and a salutation with 0-1 punctuation errors

            8 points:  The postcard to the punctuation mark includes at least 3 sentences, a greeting, and a salutation with 2 punctuation errors

            6 points: The postcard to the punctuation mark includes at least 3 sentences, a greeting, and a salutation with 3 punctuation errors

            4 points: The postcard to the punctuation mark includes at least 2 sentences, a greeting, and a salutation with 3-4 punctuation errors

            2 points: The postcard to the punctuation mark has 4 or more punctuation errors or is missing a sentence, greeting, or salutation.

 

Choices: You will only be graded on the one you choose to do! Do not worry about the rubric for the other activity

 

Newspaper Article (10 points)

            10 points: The newspaper article tells what happens when the punctuation leaves or when they return with no grammatical errors

            8 points: The newspaper article tells what happens when the punctuation leaves or when they return with 1-2 grammatical errors

            6 points: The newspaper article tells what happens when the punctuation leaves or when they return with 3-4 grammatical errors

            4 points: The newspaper article tells what happens when the punctuation leaves or when they return with 5-6 grammatical errors

            2 points: The newspaper article tells what happens when the punctuation leaves or when they return with 7 or more grammatical errors

 

Comic Strip (10 points)

            10 points: The comic strip depicts the story about the punctuation with at least 6 pictures and dialogue in each one

            8 points: The comic strip depicts the story about the punctuation with at least 4 pictures and dialogue in each one

            6 points: The comic strip depicts the story about the punctuation with at least 4 pictures with dialogue missing from 1-2

            4 points: The comic strip depicts the story about the punctuation with at least 4 pictures with dialogue missing from all of them

            2 points: The comic strip does not depict the story of the punctuation or there are less than 4 pictures
