and Objectives, based on the INTASC Principles
This "Baroque Composer" Lesson demonstrates several ways for a child to learn including a "Fun Fact Game", a presentation, and a crossword puzzle. There are also additional ideas if there is extra time.
My Holiday Preparation Unit creates an overview of objectives, use of various instruments, vocal techniques, cultural learning, movement, and many musical factors combined to form a Holiday Program for first through third graders.
Assessment-

This Rubric demonstrates the tools needed to write an appropriate essay.
This Rubric gives the criteria for a Fourth Grade Music Unit Test, grading in several different areas of musical knowledge.
This Worksheet was created to test student's knowledge of common musical terms used everyday in class. These terms were also posted all around the classroom so they were always visible for the students to view.

This Piece is three students' composition written during class. After practicing weeks on rhythm and notes all together in class, students had to come up front and compose their own rhythm or notes, thus encouraging them to learn for future instruction.
This Unit Test and Rubric assessed learning to drive future instruction in the music classroom. This test shows me what needs to be re-taught or reviewed before moving on to new ideas. This test is part of a whole unit plan. Click here to see my rubric for my entire unit plan.

This "Bad to Good Singing" Lesson Plan encourages future instruction with the use of YouTube videos, vocal exercises, using props such as chairs and mirrors, and allowing the students to move around the classroom while doing the activities.
This "Classroom Builder" Lesson supports future instruction by allowing the students to talk about music amongst their classmates in a safe and comfortable environment. They also connect a song to their everyday lives while looking at the literacy components of it.

This "Swingin and Rockin Decades" Lesson shows various ways of assessment for a High School Choir when given a lecture about the 30's, 40's, and 50's music era.
This "Shaving Cream" Lesson and Quiz is a fun way for students to learn various musical notation. They are able to use their tactual, smelling, and visual senses for this activity while having a bit of freedom to draw what they have learned. This activity will be followed up with a quiz about what they learned. Here are some pictures of this lesson in progress.

This Literary Analysis written in Writing Through Literature, demonstrates my appropriate communication skills in writing in which I took a poem out of a book and analyzed it's meaning and connection to the author and the rest of the book.
This Film Analysis Paper shows my ability to analyze and compare two separate films. Through research and viewing the films, I compiled and wrote my ideas and thoughts about how women are portrayed in each film compared to how women are viewed in actual society.
This "Peanut Butter and Jelly" Rhythmic Lesson Plan encourages students to clap out rhythms by themselves, with a group, as a class, and then improvise their own rhythm at the end.
This Major/Minor Lesson is a fun, technological lesson that pushes students to think and work by themselves, with a small group, and then with the whole class to guess whether a given YouTube song is in a Major or Minor mode. This lesson is geared towards fourth graders, but can be fun for fourth grade to twelfth grade.
This Oral Presentation PowerPoint and Lesson Plan is put together by another classmate and myself, providing several ways of teaching our class including the use of a PowerPoint, a Charades game, note cards, candy, lecture, and question and answer. Click here to see comments on our presentation.
Environment- Creates positive and caring environments for student development and learning
This Tiananmen Square Presentation meets the needs of many different learning styles in my World Literature class by including a timeline, pictures, a YouTube video, discussion, and various discussion questions.
This Unit Plan teaches students the basics of music in a new and exciting way than they may have learned before or they may be learning for the first time. This plan includes trade books, standards, and lessons that suit many ways of learning. Here is the Rubric I received for my Unit Plan.
This Kindergarten "Ukulele" Lesson uses a variety of teaching methods and materials such as instruments, white boards, kinesthetic vocal techniques, and learning a new language through echoing.
This Progress Sheet will allow me to keep record of my students for four weeks at a time. It will help me to monitor what major things need worked on or what has improved over an extended time. This sheet can also help me keep track of the progress of each class, so I can keep each class and grade organized.
This Project was given to the students as a way to see how the student's were progressing in an individual way rather than a collaborative way. By asking what the students have learned in music so far and what their favorite thing has been, we see the progress in vocabulary terms, musical notation, and ideas that have stuck. Here are some impressive examples that were completed and helped me to monitor and report each student's progress.
Here is a Participation Log that can be used for High School or Junior High Choir. It is a great way to allow the students to gain responsibility for their actions by grading themselves every day and turning it in at the end of the week for a participation grade.
This ARC Reflection summarizes my efforts and abilities to communicate with people with disabilities and use of different strategies to engage their interest in the event planned.
This High Stakes Assessment Paper demonstrates my thoughts about standardized tests and future results. I am aware of different teaching strategies and continue to seek for new ideas.
My Student Teaching Final Reflection Paper is evidence that I reflect on my teaching preparation experiences and teaching practices and find what is best for my students' learning styles.
