Summary
Rainbow Fish, ‘the most beautiful fish in the entire ocean,’ refuses to share his precious scales with the other fish in the sea; ultimately, his greed leaves him without friends or admirers. He seeks counsel from the wise octopus, who advises him to give away his beautiful, iridescent scales. After sharing his prized scales with the other fish, Rainbow Fish has only one sparkling scale left, but he now has friends and he decides that is most important!
About The Author
Marcus Pfister was born in Berne,
Switzerland and began his career as a graphic artist in an advertising
agency.
As time went on, Pfister decided to dedicate more time
to artistic pursuits. In 1983 he began to write and illustrate his first
book, The Sleepy Owl, which was published in 1986.
To date, Pfister’s best-known work is The
Rainbow Fish.
