A Perfect Picnic

 Background Information:

Join Elmo, Zoe, Bert, and Ernie as the go on a spring picnic in Sara Albee's book "A Perfect Picnic."  During this picnic they will see a baseball in their chocolate pie, ants, lambs, and birds eating their food, bikers splashing them with mud and a spring rain shower.  With all of these things their picnic could be ruined.  See how these characters react to all of these spring events.

Sarah Albee is the author of several Sesame Street and Blues Clues books.

Pre-Reading:

Each of the seasons has a different type of weather.  Help Elmo find the right clothes to wear.  Print off this worksheet and write down what you had Elmo wear in each season on the Weather Game

Post-Reading:

At the end of the picnic all of the characters are disappointed because the rain "ruined" there picnic except Bert.  If you were there would you be like Bert or the others characters? Why? Write your 2 to 3 sentence answer on a piece of notebook paper.

 

Choose two Spring holidays and click on them to learn more information about them.  Then print off and fill out this Venn diagram comparing and contrasting those two writing at least two things in each section.  If you need to you can click on the holiday to look at the information again.
