Curriculum-

C1- Plans informative, developmentally appropriate lessons and/or units INTASC 2, 3, 4, 7  NBPTS 1,2

This Intelligence Presentation, Tri-Fold Brochure, Lesson Plan and graded rubric where students are taught about Intelligence in a college classroom demonstrates my ability to make informative, developmentally appropriate lessons. I chose to include this artifact as an objective because it was one of the first lesson plans I created by myself.

This 3rd grade Mathematics lesson plan and Rubric where students are taught a lesson plan involving coins, dollar bills, and correct change demonstrates my ability to make informative, developmentally appropriate lessons. I chose to include this artifact as an objective because it was one of the first lesson plans I created by myself.

C2- Teaches subject matter accurately to insure that students can meet P-12 academic standards  INTASC 1, 3, 4, 7 NBPTS 1,2

C3- Uses interdisciplinary instruction as appropriate INTASC 1, 7 NBPTS 1,2

This Dance Lesson from a mini unit and Rubric displays that I use interdisciplinary instruction as appropriate. I chose to include this as an artifact because the way in which the instruction is delivered in the lesson plan is interdisciplinary involving mathematics and dance.

C4- Addresses subject matter from various points of view INTASC 1, 3, 4, 5, 7 NBPTS 1,2

This Physical Education Essay demonstrates my ability to address subject matter from various points of view. I chose to use this essay as an artifact because it compares contrasting views on physical education in the elementary schools across the United States.

C5- Teaches students to use critical thinking and problem solving strategies INTASC 4, 5, 7 NBPTS1,2

C6- Uses effective questioning strategies INTASC 4, 5, 7 NBPTS 1,2

Appropriate Bloom's Taxonomy questions are displayed in my History Lesson Plan where students are educated on historical toys from a museum in Wabash. I chose to include this as an artifact because effective questions are used in the lesson plan to pull out specific knowledge.

Assessment-

A1- Develops appropriate tools to assess learning INTASC 4, 8 NBPTS 3

This Theater Lesson from a mini unit I developed and Rubric display appropriate tools to assess the learning of the students. I chose to include this as an artifact because it uses a unique form of assessment in which I developed for a lesson plan.

This Assessment Paper and Rubric demonstrate my ability to develop appropriate tools to assess learning. I chose to include this as an artifact because it discusses the different forms of assessment and displays a unique form of assessment in which I created on my own.

A2- Assesses learning through standardized and/or teacher constructed tests to drive future instruction INTASC 8 NBPTS 3

A3- Assesses learning through appropriate alternative measures to drive future instruction INTASC 4, 8 NBPTS 3

This Curriculum Assignment demonstrates my appropriate use of developing appropriate alternative measures to drive future instruction. I chose to include this as an objective because it uses an oral form of assessment where the students answer question which they will then continue to ponder about other objects.

A4- Uses a variety of appropriate, authentic assessment tools and methods INTASC 4, 8 NBPTS 3

This Physical Education lesson plans assessment tool and Rubric demonstrate my variety of use of appropriate, authentic assessment tools and methods. I chose to include this lesson plan as an artifact because it uses and authentic form of assessment in the lesson plan.

This Science lesson plans assessment tool and Rubric demonstrate my variety of use of appropriate, authentic assessment tools and methods. I chose to include this lesson plan as an artifact because it contains two unique authentic forms of assessment in the lesson plan.

Relationships-

R1- Demonstrates sensitivity for diversity with students, colleagues, parents, college faculty, and/or community agencies  INTASC 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 NBPTS 5

With my Disabilities Presentation, I display sensitivity towards diversity with students. I chose to provide this presentation to demonstrate my sensitivity for diversity for others because the presentation had to deal with students with autism, attention deficit disorder, and dyslexia.

This Field Experience Reflection with Rubric displays my practice of sensitivity for diversity towards students, colleagues, and parents. I chose to include this reflection because it includes a reflection about diversity of a classroom that is 80% Hispanic, a staff that includes African-American, Hispanic, and Caucasian members, and parents who are Hispanic in a pre-school classroom.

R2- Demonstrates with full awareness of ethical and legal responsibilities of teachers INTASC 7, 8, 9 NBPTS 4,5

I am fully aware of ethical and legal responsibilities of teachers as I demonstrated in my Ethics Tri-Fold Brochure. This brochure was made to explain to others about the ethical and legal responsibilities of teachers for parents and guardians to read.

In my Professional Organization Review, with a graded rubric, I was asked to evaluate an organization of my choice and reflect my thoughts and opinions on several topics such as reliability and validity. This demonstrates my awareness of legal responsibilities by evaluating the best alternative practices for a special education teachers with high ability students.

R3- Values life-long learning, personal/professional development, and/or service orientation INTASC 9 NBPTS 4, 5

This ARC Essay demonstrates my that I value life life-long learning, personal/professional development, and/or service orientation. I chose to use this artifact for this objective because I gained life-long learning and professional development while interacting with ARC clientele.

This Relationship Assignment and Rubric displays my value for life-long learning, personal/professional development, and/or service orientation. I chose this artifact for this objective because I interviewed three teachers about critical information occurring in education today.

R4- Models appropriate oral communication skills INTASC 6 NBPTS 1, 2

This Famous People with Disabilities Presentation, Handout, and Rubric demonstrate my appropriate use of oral communication skills. I developed this oral presentation to educate members of my class on three famous people with a disability.

This Camel Wrestling Power Point shows how I can educate students in a classroom with proper oral communication skills. I developed this oral presentation to educate the class on a sport practiced in another country.

R5- Models appropriate written communication skills INTASC 6 NBPTS 1, 2

Appropriate written communication  skills are present in my Journal article critique about men in the educational field. I chose to include this article critique because I found it very interesting that it was written about male teachers in elementary classrooms.

I display appropriate written communication skills in my Autobiography describing a lot of information about who I am and where I came from.

R6- Motivates students to learn individually, collaboratively, and cooperatively INTASC 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 NBPTS 1,2, 3

This Field Trip Guide that I developed provides numerous locations that I can take my students where they can learn additional material both individually and collaboratively outside the classroom.

This Trade Book Analysis that I developed provide numerous books that students can read and gain knowledge about each other and other information individually, collaboratively, and cooperatively.

R7- Plans lessons in collaborative teams INTASC 6, 10 NBPTS 5

With my Team Building Presentation and Rubric, my colleagues and myself demonstrate how important team work is and the results of a successful team. I chose to include this presentation for this objective because it was a team building presentation that was done by a team.

This Environment Assignment and Rubric displays my ability to plan lessons in collaborative teams. I chose to include this assignment for this objective because it was an invention created in a collaborative team where we presented our idea to the class.

Environment-

E1- Differentiates learning opportunities that respond to individual learning styles and learning challenges INTASC 2, 3, 4, 5 NBPTS 1, 2, 3

This Learners with Special Gifts and Talents Tri-Fold Brochure, for Exceptional Learners class, I provide factual information about individual who are exceptional learners. In this brochure there are proper practices to help modify the curriculum for a student who is an exceptional learner.

 In this Action Plan and Rubric, I adequately discuss a plan, present a parent-teacher letter, two lesson plans, and a trade book analysis. In this action plan I talk about and include several ways in which I differentiate the curriculum to accommodate the unique learning styles and learning challenges an English Language Learner might come across in my classroom.

E2- Uses a variety of teaching methods and materials INTASC 2, 3, 4 NBPTS 1, 2,

This Learners with Special Gifts and Talents Presentation with a  Presentation Handout and Rubric demonstrates my ability to make informative, developmentally appropriate lessons that involve using a multiple teaching methods and materials. I chose to include this artifact as an objective because it was one of the first lesson plan presentations in which I created that involved a visual demonstration, activity, and handout.   

In this Weather Science Lesson Plan and Rubric, for Literacy and English Learners class, I adequately include different methods, materials, and learning opportunities to accommodate English Language Learners individual learning styles and learning challenges.

E3- Uses a variety of appropriate media and technology INTASC 2, 3, 4 NBPTS 1, 2, 3

My intellectual disability tri-fold brochure over Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)  displays my appropriate use of media and technology.

E5- Manages student behavior in positive, safe ways INTASC 2, 5 NBPTS 1,3

This Reflection over a behavioral method used while teaching at Ligonier Head Start during a field placement called the "stick chart" demonstrates my ability to handle the student's behavior in a safe, positive way. The students who misbehave must move there stick from go to warning or stop (picture 1) which would result in a time out (picture 2). The students who do not have to move their stick for a period of time will be rewarded for good behavior (picture 3).

E7- Engages in research and reflection on best practices in teaching strategies INTASC 1, 2, 7, 9 NBPTS 4, 5

My credo and rubric  demonstrates my ability to reflect on my philosophy of teaching. I discuss my beliefs about how I want my classroom to run and what dreams and skills I hope to instill in my students.

In this article critique about practices appropriate for children with mild disabilities in secondary education from International Journal of Disability, Development and Education, I demonstrate my capabilities to research and reflect on teaching strategies. I provided this article to meet this objective because the proper practices of special educators interested me.
