Pre reading Activities

These activities will get you thinking about stars and constellations. Use your brain power to answer questions you already know, and look at the websites to answer the questions you don't know yet!

ACTIVITY 1: click on this KWL chart , print off the booklet and tell me what you know about stars and what you would want to know about stars. Leave the  "learned" part about stars blank until end.

ACTIVITY 2: Go to this website and write down five awesome facts about constellations that you didn't already know on a blank sheet of lined notebook paper. After writing go to this website click on the button PLAY THE GAME and trace 3 constellations that we find in the sky.

ACTIVITY 3: Check out this super duper website to learn more about the planets and stars. Click on the EXPLORE button, then click TRAVEL THE SOLAR SYSTEM which is in the upper left hand corner. Click on at least 3 items. Write the three you chose to explore on the lined sheet of notebook paper under the facts about constellations.
