Summary:

Crawdad Creek is an exciting story about a brother and sister, Michael and Lizzie, who go on adventures to the creek in their back yard.  Michael and Lizzie find many things to do and even pan for gold in the warm water.  They learn how to identify footprints of various animals that live by the creek and even find an ancient Indian arrowhead!  By the mossy rocks they discover turtles, dragonflies, and crawdads all while listening to the calming burble of the water.

 

About the author: 

Scott Russell Sanders spent most of his free time as a child in the woods, looking at the clouds and turning over rocks.  He was an explorer by heart and asked his parents many questions.  His favorite place to be was by the creek behind his house!  With little television and an imagination, Scott Sanders had the time of his life exploring the small creek full of interesting creatures!
