Introduction

Let's continue to talk about the forest and who lives in it and where they live.

Here are some definitions to keep in mind:

Emergent-This layer is the tallest trees that tower above the forest floor.
--animals-eagles, butterflies, bats

Canopy- the tops of most of the trees in the rain forest form a type of roof cover over the lower strata. A lot of the sunlight is blocked due to the intertwining of the leaves and branches.
--animals-snakes, birds.

Under story- the trees that happen to grow under the canopy. Usually these trees do not grow over 12 feet.
--animals-squirrels , insects, frogs

Forest Floor-The floor is comprised of decaying leaves,  and soil etc.
--animals-deer, bears, rabits
