"To teach is to learn twice"
**Joseph Joubert**
Over the last four years at Manchester College, I have learned and grown a lot. I fully believe My education here at Manchester College has prepared me to go into the world of teaching elementary students! I knew right away out of high school that I wanted to become a teacher because I loved being around children and seeing their smiling faces and getting their warm hugs. Children really do light up my world, and now I get to light up their world with learning.
I plan on looking for a teaching job in the lower elementary classrooms. I want to teach these students through a variety of teaching styles because I want to meet the needs of every student in my classroom. I feel it is important to engage students in hands-on lessons because they remember more from these types of lessons. I also want to implement at the beginning of each school year my discipline plan with the children. It is important to implement a behavior management plan at the beginning of the school year because it will help with managing the classroom for the rest of the year.
The most important thing about teaching are the children. Not only am I a teacher to these students, but a role model. I know that students look up to teachers, and I want to be a positive role model for them. In my classroom, I want them to feel comfortable and at ease with the environment. I need to create a warm and loving environment to all my students because that will build on trust and community in my classroom.
I want to be a teacher most of all because children are the future of our tomorrow. I want to educate them to the best of my ability with the best methods, technology, and teaching strategies. I know teaching is a passion because their is no other job so rewarding than to teach the future generations of our world. I will continue to grow and learn during all of my teaching years because I want to always keep an open door to knew ideas and suggestions.
