During Reading Activities

Let's do some activities while we read!

 Activity #1:

For this activity, you get the chance to become an expert on a planet of your choice!  Create a Powerpoint with data, information, facts, etc. about that planet

Directions for activity - Before you finish the book, but after you finish reading about the last planet, STOP.  Instead of going on, I want you to do a project over what you just read.  First, choose one of the planets that you want to explore further, then open a new Powerpoint document.  The first slide should consist of the following: the name of your planet, a picture of that planet, and your name.  As far as what you put on the rest of your slides, it is up to you! (As long as it is all information about the planet) Some things to consider are: origin of the name of that planet, it's size, shape, color, climate, temperature, or interesting facts.  Have fun with it and include pictures!

Activity #2:

Explore the origin (or source) of each of the planets' names.  Fill in the space, with the answer, for each planet on this worksheet.  Use this website to find the information you will need.

Directions for activity - Open the link above that says "website" and a webpage will open up for you to explore about the origin of the names of our planets.  Open up the worksheet in the link above and fill in the spaces provided for each planet.  Ex: Next to Mercury, put the origin of it's name next to it.

Once finished here, Click on the "After" tab to the left. There you will find your final two activities!
