After Reading Activities
How much do you now know about the planets and the Solar System? Let's see how much you have learned!
Activity #1:
Here is an "Our Planet Chart" from the book
Directions for activity - Click on the link above that says "Our Planet Chart" and a Word document will appear. Look at the document and see that it has each planet and in each column it asks you for the answers to some questions. Read the questions so you know what information is needed. Once you have done so, surf the Internet to find the answers. Fill in each blank and save the document on the class flash drive as follows: LastnameFirstnameYourclassnumber (Example: GriffithStephanie0). If you and another classmate find different answers to the same questions, it's OK! We will discuss these as a class. Happy surfing!
Activity #2:
Test your knowledge in a game of Planetary Jeopardy!
Directions for activity - You may already know how the game Jeopardy works...but if you don't, it is a game that has a board of points that vary in amount according to each category. Once you choose a category, you must pick a point value. Click on that box and an answer will appear. This is different from most games because it gives you the answer, and you need to respond/answer with a question. (Example: The name of your school. Answer: What is Manchester Elementary School? If you are confused at any point, raise your hand and your teacher will help you! Enjoy :)
