Say what you want and be who you are because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind. -Dr. Seuss
My name is Michael Andrew Barnes. I was born on February 15, 1984. I grew up on a farm in Eaton, Ohio and have lived there my whole life. My family consists of my mom Patty, dad Tom, an older brother Jeff, and an older sister Alexa.
I went to school at the National Trail Local School District. In middle school I played the saxophone in the band for four years, including first chair all-county honors. I also played football, basketball, and track in seventh and eighth grade. In high school I lettered three years on the football team playing tight end and defensive line. My senior year I received honorable mention in the county and conference. I played three years of basketball for the Blazers. I also lettered four years in track throwing the shot-put and discus. I earned all-county and all-conference honors for placing top five in both meets. FFA was also a big part of my high school career. I was sentinel of our chapter for two years, I received my state FFA degree in 2002, and I participated on many judging teams including two top ten individual finishes at state for livestock judging.
After high school I decided to go to Manchester College to pursue a degree in elementary education. In my four years at Manchester I participated in many activities, including Student Education Association (SEA), football, and track. I lettered three years in both football and track.
