My Work with Kids!
Indiana Reading Corps
I worked tutoring children in reading for the Indiana Reading Corps at Manchester College my freshmen year and part of my sophomore year.
Flyer Time
During my Educational
Psychology class, I had to chance to tutor three students after school
for a semester. I was there to help them with any homework along with
assignments they had not completed. It was a blast and something I
truly enjoyed! This is a picture of me and one of the girls I got to
work with!
Manchester Early Learning Center
I have worked as an assistant teacher at MELC for almost a year. I have worked with children between the ages of 2 and 6. Working at MELC has given me opportunities to try different activities, games, and even practice behavior management!
Observations
I have had to opportunity to observe many different classrooms and teach different lessons while at Manchester. A few examples are:
Intro to Teaching in January 2004: Observed in a kindergarten class at Price Elementary for 3 weeks
Manchester Elementary School - 3rd grade
Laketon Elementary School - Kindergarten
Northwest Elementary School - Resource Room
Akron Elementary School - 4th grade
The Oaks Academy, Indianapolis - 5th grade
