About Me
"A good teacher is like a candle, it consumes itself to light the way for others." -Anonymous

My name is Kirby Dopkowski and I am currently a Junior at Manchester University. I am double majoring in English and Secondary Education. I grew up in Waynetown, Indiana with my loving parents, Raymond Sr. and Kandie, and my two siblings, Kailey (22) and Raymond Jr. (13). One thing about me that everybody knows is that you will never find me without a book, a pad of paper, and a pencil. Reading and writing are my passions, hobbies, and interests.

I have a had a passion for teaching since an early age when I would help my mother in her preschool classroom. My mother is the biggest influence in my life. She is the reason why I work as hard as I do, her motto always being "To make the best better". I feel like the passion for teaching she had ignited my own inside myself. There was never a doubt in my mind that I wouldn't teach.

These two gentlemen ignited my love for teaching English. When I met Mr. Walker and Mr. McDaniel, I had my mind set on teaching early education like my mother. They inspired me to unlock my already apparent love for reading and writing and "Express the crazy-ness God has granted you". I hope to one day to impact a student's life the way they have impacted mine.

Theatre and community service have and always will be a large part in my life. After acting for five years, I plan on one day being a director at the high school I work at. Being a 10 year 4-H member and seeing how it has shaped me and my peers to be honest, hardworking, and a respectable people, I plan on helping out with a local 4-H chapter in the community I end up residing in. By doing this I plan to have a safe positive environment for students to develop in. "I pledge my hands for larger service, for my club, my community, my country, and my world".
